The Greater Lagos Fiesta is an annual event that aims to showcase Lagos’ cultural richness through traditional performances, art exhibitions, and local cuisine stalls.

The 2023 fiesta kicked off on December 29 and ran through to the early hours of January 1.

The grand finale was held at SOL Beach, Oniru, and featured stellar performances from A-list artistes in the music industry.

Davido delivered an exhilarating rendition of his hit track ‘Over Dem’, while Olamide brought the heat with his solo performance and a sizzling duet with Asake — of their hit song ‘Omo Ope’.

Shallipopi also mesmerised the crowd with his signature ‘Pluto’ vibes.

Joining the star-studded lineup were other music stars such as Kizz Daniel, Seyi Vibez, Lil Kesh, Spyro, Niniola, 2Baba, Flavour, and Teni, who also left the audience in awe with their brilliant performances.

Established in 2012, the Greater Lagos Fiesta annually extends its activities to five major regions of Lagos, including Victoria Island, Badagry, Agege, Ikorodu, and Epe.

Speaking at the Badagry venue of the event on Friday, Solomon Bonu, the chairman of the Lagos house of assembly committee on tourism, arts, and culture, expressed satisfaction with the huge turnout of fun lovers.

He said Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu sees the event as a way of bringing Lagos youths together for entertainment, fun, and relaxation.

“Not only will the Greater Lagos Fiesta be a hub of musical brilliance, it will also be a platform to celebrate the vibrant culture and traditions of Lagos state,” he said.

“From traditional dances to captivating art displays, attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the cultural heritage of these Lagos residents.”
