The grand finale was held at SOL Beach, Oniru, and featured stellar performances from A-list artistes in the music industry.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos governor, attended the event alongside Obafemi Hamzat, his deputy, and some other state executives.

During his performance, Davido thrilled the audience with some of his old and new songs including ‘Dami Duro’, ‘Over Dem’, and ‘Feel’.

He also entertained Lagosians with ‘Kante’, a track off his ‘Timeless’ album, featuring Fave.

Reacting to Davido’s performance via X, Fave said despite being with him backstage, she wondered why the Afrobeats star did not call her up to perform the song with him.

She said Davido removed her verse in ‘Kante’ and delivered a new version of the song.

Fave said performing with the Grammy-nominated singer “would have been a good way to start my year”.

“Begun my new years with such a huge gag lol hugging Davido backstage as he’s about to perform, to watching him perform Kante in a new version with my verse taken off. Performing with you would have been a good way to start my year but I guess life happens. Happy nu year,” she wrote.

Other artistes that graced the stage were Olamide, Shallipopi, 2Baba, Mayorkun, Teni, Flavour, and Kizz Daniel.

Sanwo-Olu described the concert as “a spectacular showcase of Lagos as the entertainment hub of Africa”.

“The #LagosCountdown was a spectacular showcase of Lagos as the entertainment hub of Africa. From Davido to Olamide to Kizz Daniel to Flavour to Mayorkun and so many more, our stars lit up the night and ushered in 2024 in style,” he wrote on X.

“We’re committed to celebrating bigger wins in 2024. Here’s to more Grammy nominations & celebrations, accelerated businesses, and greater success for our vibrant city and its residents. As we reflect on the amazing energy of yesterday’s event, I’m thrilled about the future of Lagos. Let’s continue to shine and celebrate together, creating more opportunities and growth for everyone.”
