Nigerians have taken to social media to react to the face-off between Iyabo Ojo and Yomi Fabiyi, Nollywood stars, with respect to the rape case against Baba Ijesha.

TheCable Lifestyle had reported how the 48-year-old actor, whose real name is Olarenwaju James, was arrested for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl.

Fabiyi had drawn first blood when he urged his colleagues not to be in a hurry to judge Baba Ijesha until he has been convicted of the allegation by a court.

He had also cited the case of Baba Suwe, another movie star, who was detained in 2011 for allegedly being in possession of hard drugs but later released.

Fabiyi’s admonishment, however, did not go down well with Iyabo Ojo who slammed him over his stance on Baba Ijesha rape case.

She said it was unfortunate that Fabiyi as well as Foluke Daramola, another of her colleague, would request more evidence to further substantiate the allegation against Baba Ijesha.

The drama between the pair has since ignited a flurry of reactions on social media, especially Twitter, where a segment of users defended the actress while also bashing Fabiyi over his stance.

I love the way Iyabo Ojo boldly called out Yomi Fabiyi for his stance over Baba Ijesha’s case. Yomi was trying to absolve Baba Ijesha of the crime he’s guilty of as he insisted that evidence should be posted online. We need more woman like Iyabo Ojo,” a Twitter user wrote.

Yomi Fabiyi is a disgrace, a complete idiot, one of the reasons why the fight against sexual violence gets harder by the day, you want to see a video first even when you know she is a minor? Even after you heard he confessed? What is wrong with the world??? I cannot can’t, ” Toke Makinwa wrote.

“I cried watching PrincesComedian videos during sahur. Watching Iyabo Ojo explain what she saw in the CCTV footage is aggravating my anger. Baba Ijesha is guilty. He admitted & has been apologizing since the news broke. Why are people still defending him?,” another user asked.

Here is what some Nigerians had to say:
