Nollywood actors, Adeniyi Johnson and Toyin Abraham, are at each other’s throat over delayed divorce proceedings.

In the early hours of Wednesday, Johnson had alleged that Abraham was frustrating the divorce proceedings in posts on his Instagram page.

“We were supposed to sign divorce papers by November 1st, you didn’t come. The case was postponed to January 10th only for your manager Sam to call me that you want to discontinue the case in Sagamu and restart in Ibadan, madam why?” he wrote.

“Till date, I did no interview except for the one on Rubbing Minds and yet took all the faults and bear the names you’ve always called me. Why not let me go after three years? Why shift case to start all over again?

“No letter from the court about discontinuation of case even your lawyer isn’t aware you are taking such steps, na manager dey call us.

“I agree to all names and agree to all accusation. Toyin can you please let me go?  The delay tactics is tiring. I see my quietness is taken for granted and making people assume I’m the bad egg.”

In response to the post, Samuel Olatunji, Abraham’s manager, said the actress has shown more commitment to the case.

“A simple call to your lawyer would tell you that what Lawyer Bosun called you for is the beginning of trial (court proceedings) not to come and sign divorce papers. Divorce doesn’t work like that.

“If you desperately want a divorce, you should have filed one not Toyin; perhaps the over 1m naira cost deterred you. Toyin, chose to bear the cost, pay her lawyer the fee and has taken the case to a considerable point. She has shown more commitment to the divorce proceedings than you.

“In more than three years of separation, you just filed a ‘cross-petition’ last month while she has been at it in the court for over a year.”

The couple got married in 2013 and part ways in 2015 on accusations of infidelity.

Johnson has since gotten married to Seyi Edun, another actress, despite not being legally divorced with Abraham.
