Davido and Wizkid have engaged in a heated war of words on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The drama started in the early hours of Monday after the ‘Ojuelegba’ hitmaker mocked Davido and Don Jazzy, the Mavin Records head honcho.

Wizkid called Don Jazzy an “influencer” while taunting Davido with a video of him on his knees, pleading and crying after a fan asked him to release new music.

The singer’s posts attracted criticism from a segment of social media users, including celebrities.

In a flurry of tweets on Monday evening, the ‘Timeless’ hitmaker aimed a thinly veiled dig at Wizkid, implying that he is now online to take on his adversaries.

“When LIGHT comes darkness VANISHES!!! LETS GET ACTIVE!! Montego Bay we deyaaaaaaa. Dem no know ur gbedu again. I can’t wait till 20 years from now … enjoy ur time,” he wrote.

“They were trying to distract us baby no mind them.”

“WE NOT DELUSIONAL YOU’RE A SICK MAN,” Davido retorted.

Replying to Davido, Wizkid reshared a video of his colleague on his knees, crying and begging alongside an emoji of himself laughing.

In a follow-up post, Davido wrote: “That’s what I thought. Nothing to say! Exactly why I stopped wasting my clout and jeopardizing my millions of usd of endorsements on someone whose career was resurrected a few years ago just to die again. NEXT!!”

Wizkid fired back at Davido who referred to as “my boy”. He also argued that Davido cannot attain his level in the music industry. He also described Davido as “an influencer” who cannot do without a “songwriter”.

I got nun to say to u my boy! I can retire today and you still not on my level. You be influencer with a song writer . Wish u well,” he wrote.

Wizkid and Davido are considered to be among the three biggest artistes in Nigeria in contemporary times, with their fans often divided over who is superior.
