Ayobami Mudashir Olabiyi, the Nigerian actor famous in the Yoruba film industry, is dead.

Bose Akinola, the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria’s (TAMPAN) governor in Oyo, confirmed Olabiyi’s demise in an Instagram post on Wednesday.

“I have a directive of the Oyo state TAMPAN governor, her excellency Yeye Bose Akinola to announce the death of our TAMPAN National general secretary, Chief Alhaji Musadshir Ayobami Olabiyi ‘Bobo B’,” the statement reads.

“May God give his family and the entire TAMPAN members globally the fortitude to bear the loss. Insha Allah, Amen.”

Although the cause of death was however not revealed, Olabiyi was buried on Wednesday in Ibadan, according to Islamic rites.

Some colleagues and fans of the deceased actor have also taken to social media to pay their tributes.

Actor Tunde Yusuf mourned his colleague while recounting his efforts in the industry.

“The history is long. Your influence on many is enormous. You created the market where everyone bring his/her goods to sell,” he wrote via Instagram.

“Your office at NTA road is always a beehive of activities. You rose to the top but with many things you in your plan that are yet to be achieved.

“We mourn your loss and may God forgive your shortcomings and rest your your soul among the righteous.”

Olabiyi ventured into the film industry in 1993 after teaching for over 16 years.

He was TAMPAN national general secretary for Oyo state. He starred in film like ‘Ewolewo’ and ‘Olaniyanu’.
