Terra Academy for the Arts (TAFTA), founded by filmmaker Bolanle Austen-Peters, has trained over 2000 young women in the creative industry.
The Women Kreatives Connect Summit (WKCS) which was themed ‘Building as a Creative in Nigeria’ held on Thursday at Regal Hall, Ikeja, Lagos.
The summit featured engaging workshops, networking, knowledge sharing, live creative challenges, networking moments, and spotlight performances.
Bamike ‘BamBam’ Adenibuyan, the actress and ambassador of TAFTA, and actor Emeka Nwagbaraocha were guest speakers.
During their panel session, the actors shared insights on how to monetise a passion and navigate the challenges of Nigeria’s creative industry.
At the end of the summit, female content creators were presented with content kits, furthering TAFTA’s commitment to equipping women with the tools to excel and thrive in the creative economy.
The training comes weeks after the academy graduated 8,000 students across creative disciplines, including scriptwriting, animation, light and sound design.
TAFTA is a creative academy dedicated to empowering women through creative education and professional certification programmes.
Over the years, the academy has impacted more than 30,000 individuals and continues to train and inspire many more across the creative space.
It offers training and certifications in animation, art business, entrepreneurship, scriptwriting, sound design, and stage lighting to individuals aged 18–35 across Lagos, Ogun, and Kano states.
