Emmanuel Iren, lead pastor of Celebration Church International (CCI), has spoken against false sexual assault cases in his ministry.

Addressing his congregation in a now-viral video, the cleric said the majority of such accusations reported within the church turned out to be untrue.

Iren also advised men to avoid compromising situations, including kissing outside marriage, which could lead to complications or accusations of sexual abuse.

“In this ministry, 9 out of 10 cases where the women came and said they were sexually assaulted ended up false,” he said.

“And I’m not saying our opinion, but by the ladies’ own admission. The first few cases, I was angry. There was one of them, I called the guy and swore that as long as I’m alive, I must arrest you and you must go to jail.

“The guy sent me a WhatsApp evidence. The girl who claimed she was assaulted said ‘it was a nice time’ in the chat. Why lie? If he didn’t keep that message, he would have been in trouble.

“If you were in a relationship with someone and the guy said he’s not doing again, that’s not sexual assault. You can say a guy led you on, and a lot of guys do that foolishness, but that’s not sexual assault.

“Sometimes I blame the guys. You’re a Christian, why are you kissing somebody? Now they’ve said you rape them. You will go to jail.”
