Obi Cubana, the Abuja-based business mogul, has starred in the latest skit by Mr. Macaroni, Nigerian comedian.

The 46-year-old nightlife promoter, whose real name is Obinna Iyiegbu, had become a viral sensation on social media after a grand funeral event he staged over the weekend in Anambra for his late mother who passed away in December 2020.

In Macaroni’s skit on Wednesday, Cubana shows off his wealth by spraying wads of naira notes after entering the comedian’s home.

This is in contrast to Don Jazzy, the music producer, who played a rather reserved associate doling out N20 notes.

At Cubana’s highly-discussed event, prominent figures had turned up to rain naira notes in a display of wealth.

Reacting to those who had criticised him for the ‘naira rain’, the nightlife promoter had said: “How would I have arranged for people to come to the event and spray money. Is it to bathe with it? The money belongs to them.

“So it is their choice to spend it anyhow they like. All those that came for the burial are bigwigs across industries.

“So they’re basically there to show love for my family. Some of them were my friends and colleagues from school several years back. Therefore, the burial offered them the platform to come and show their love and support.”
