Chike, the Nigerian singer, has released the official video of ‘Egwu’, his hit song, featuring Mohbad, the late singer.

While unveiling the video via Instagram on Wednesday, Chike wrote, “It was difficult, but I am honored to celebrate music and my friend @iammohbad with this visual. #Egwu”.

‘Egwu’ was originally released in 2023 shortly after Mohbad’s death.

The colourful visuals opens with a scene of diverse dancers moving to the song’s rhythm.

It also features images of Mohbad predominantly showcased throughout the video.

Chike honoured the late street pop singer by seamlessly integrating his images throughout the music video.

The video shifts to Chike performing solo in style and concludes with a return to the celebratory dance scene.

‘Egwu’ visuals was directed by Pink.

Chike started his music journey in 2015 when he participated in Project Fame.

He then proceeded to The Voice of Nigeria, a music show, in 2016, where he became first runner-up.

Chike signed with Universal Republic the same year but left the music label in 2017.

He would later join Brothers Records. He released his first studio album titled ‘Boo Of The Booless’ in 2020.

Mohbad, on the other hand, started his music career in 2016 after he became a sensation on social media.

The former artiste with Marlian Records, the label owned by Naira Marley, passed away on September 12.
