In January 2022, controversy trailed Iyabo Oko’s health after her family initially announced her death.

But a day later, the family said the ace actress — thought to be dead — suddenly budged back to life.

Iyabo Oko was born on November 15, 1960, in Iwo LGA of Osun state.

She started acting as a teenager in 1973. She later began to feature on the Eda Onileola theatre troupe.

During her prime in the Yoruba film industry, Sidikat was called names such as ‘Iyabo Oko’, ‘Apoti Aje’, and ‘Sisi Mama’.

Before her death, Iyabo Oko had battled with paralysis that led to her acting hiatus.

She would later spend two years away from the acting scene — while the last time she was on a movie set was in 2016.
