Bisi Aisha, Iyabo Oko’s daughter, took to her Instagram page on Thursday afternoon to announce the passing of her mother.

“It is well with your soul mummy. RIP,” she wrote.

“Wurami, Rest in Peace.”

She, however, did not reveal the cause of her death and when she passed on.

Last year, controversy trailed Iyabo Oko’s health after the family initially announced her death.

Aisha revealed her mother had passed away in January 2022.

But the following day, she updated the post, saying her mother — thought to be dead — suddenly budged back to life.

Iyabo Oko was born on November 15, 1960, in Iwo LGA of Osun state.

She started acting as a teenager in 1973. She later began to feature on the Eda Onileola theatre troupe.

During her prime in the Yoruba film industry, Sidikat was called names such as ‘Iyabo Oko’, ‘Apoti Aje’, and ‘Sisi Mama’.

Before her death, Iyabo Oko had battled with paralysis that led to her acting hiatus.

She would later spend two years away from the acting scene — while the last time she was on a movie set was in 2016.
