Rachael, sister to Rebecca Ikumelo, a lady who died at the O2 Brixton incident, has called out Asake over his tribute to the deceased at his concert in London.

Last December, the security at Asake’s O2 Brixton concert was breached in a stampede, leading to the deaths of two women.

The singer staged a 4900-capacity concert venue where he performed ‘Mr. Money With The Vibe’, his debut album.

The ceremony ended abruptly after a crowd of thousands without tickets breached the doors.

Rebecca and Gabrielle Hutchinson, a contracted security officer, lost their lives.

On Sunday, Asake held a concert at O2 Arena, where he made a spectacular entrance into the venue with a helicopter.

The ‘Joha’ hitmaker thereafter started the show with a tribute to the victims of the stampede including Rebecca.

Reacting via X — formerly Twitter — Rachael argued that Asake was supposed to have reached out to their family first before offering such a tribute.

She also described the singer’s tribute as a “sorry excuse”.

“What a sorry excuse of a “tribute” from @asakemusik. My sister lost her life at your show and you haven’t spoken to a single member of my family since. But you can hold another concert in London less than 9 months later and play her videos as a “tribute”? RIP Rebecca Ikumelo,” she wrote.
