James Brown, the controversial Nigerian crossdresser, has reacted to a viral claim that he stole money belonging to a lady at Cubana nightclub in Lagos.

In the early hours of Tuesday, a video had surfaced online wherein a young man is seen calling out the crossdresser for alleged theft.

The yet-to-be-identified man had accused Brown, Tobi the Creator, and another unnamed colleague of stealing the money belonging to the lady simply identified as Grace.

The man had also called on the trio to return the alleged stolen money.

But reacting via a Snapchat video, the crossdresser said he would not “stoop low” to honour his accuser, whom he called a “clout chaser”.

He also warned his fans not to believe the rumours that are aimed at tarnishing his image on social media.

“I want to send a big warning to my fans that how can you be stupid listening to a clout chaser,” he said.

“I don’t care about what he said but whatever you guys heard or you think you heard shouldn’t prompt you to ask stupid and irrelevant questions.

“Don’t be a hypocrite. I James Brown will not stoop so low to reply a commoner and clout chaser.”

The entertainer, born Obialor James, was recently in the news after he called out Davido for allegedly blocking him on Instagram “for no reason.”

Brown came into the limelight after a video where he made a grammatical blunder — “They didn’t caught me” — following his arrest years back went viral.
