Frederick Leonard has waded into the controversy surrounding BBNaija’s latest eviction twist.

The Nigerian actor took to Instagram to call out organisers of the show while describing the new twist as “unfair” to Pere.

Biggie earlier scrapped the usual head of house (HoH) game and announced a new task titled the ultimate veto power game (UVPG).

He said the winner of the exercise would be immune to eviction and enjoy a veto power to select the week’s HoH.

In the end, Biggie put White Money, Queen, Pere, Saga, Nini, and Angel up for possible eviction for the week.

Queen, Saga, and Nini were later sent packing from the show on Sunday night while Pere and Angel were asked to leave the house in a fake eviction.

Without the knowledge of other housemates, Angel and Pere were instead taken to a secret “white room” where it was announced that they were to play a game to earn a spot at the finale.

This leaves either Pere at risk of eviction despite garnering the highest vote at 25.31% as against Angel’s 14.63%.

How Fans Voted

This didn’t go down well with fans of Pere, who took to social media platforms, threatening to shun BBNaija.

Some others took to the DSTV office at Ilupeju, Lagos to protest the controversial twist.

Wading into the issue, Leonard argued that BBNaij’s move would discredit its show and rob voters of their efforts.

“What is the difference between this and Nigerian politics? Why ask people to vote if their votes won’t count? So if Pere loses the puzzle in the white room, he will go home, even though he won on votes?” the actor asked.

“Bbnaija, listen. People went out of their way to put in the work and vote because you made us believe our votes will count. Better do the right thing and let the winner on votes go back into the house as a finalist.

“So you do not discredit a show that has the backing and viewership support of millions across the continent of Africa. This white room twist is clearly baseless and unnecessary.

“Even if Pere wins the puzzle in the white room, it will be unfair for him to go through that heart-palpitating route with another housemate who already lost on votes! Do the right thing. Keep your show credible. Don’t rob voters!”
