Daytime talk show host Phil McGraw better known as Dr. Phil is the highest paid TV host in 2017, according to Forbes.

The psychologist-turned-television-host earned $79 million last year, making him the highest-paid TV host in the world thanks to the adverts and product placement on his eponymous daytime talk show.

Fellow daytime and syndicated hosts Ellen DeGeneres ranks behind McGraw at number two with $77 million. She is followed by Ryan Seacrest with $58 million, Judy Sheindlin at number four with $47 million and Simon Cowell at number five with $42.5 million.

The world’s 10 highest-paid TV show hosts earned $462.5 million between June 1, 2016 and June 1, 2017, before management fees and taxes.

Figures are based on data from NPD Bookscan and IMDB, as well as interviews with agents, managers, publicists, producers and lawyers.
