Cardi B, Tyler The Creator and Roddy Ricch have been named among artistes expected to perform at the 2021 BET Awards scheduled for June 28.

The organisers of the annual awards broke the news in a statement to TheCable Lifestyle on Friday.

The star-studded line-up also includes City Girls, Migos, DaBaby, DJ Khaled, H.E.R, Kirk Franklin, Jazmine Sullivan, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Moneybagg Yo!, Rapsody, and Andra Day.

According to the statement, the artistes will be joined by many other performers live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the venue for the event.

It added that Tone Stith and Bree Runway, two fast-rising singers, will also be gracing the BET Amplified Stage.

The statement disclosed that the event will be aired live on BET Africa, DStv channel 129 on the said date.

Connie Orlando, BET Awards’ executive vice-president (EVP) on specials, music programming and music strategy, said this year’s edition of the event will have the highest performers in its 21-year-old history.

“As we return live with culture’s biggest night, this year’s show marks many firsts–including the highest number of performers in 21 years of BET Awards; and viewers can expect several surprise moments,” she said.

“Some of today’s hottest talent will join us for our return to LA for an unforgettable night celebrating Black excellence.”

Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Tems are among the nominees for this year’s edition of the award to be hosted by Taraji P. Henson.
