Aproko Doctor previously disclosed that he was diagnosed with a brain tumour on December 5, 2022.

Egemba also revealed that the diagnosis left him partially blind. He, however, hailed Tayo Ojo, a Nigerian-based neurosurgeon, for being instrumental in his recovery journey.

Aproko Doctor revisited some of his troubled moments before his brain surgery on the #WithChude podcast.

Egemba said he had secretly “written all the passwords of my banking apps somewhere in case he died during the procedure”.

He said he became scared after knowing he had to consent to his surgery within 10 minutes.

“In my entire life, I never saw that coming. There is no book where one of the chapters would be my battle with a brain tumour. It could be another thing but not a brain tumour. That is why I said things happen when they happen,” he said.

“I decided that I was not going to do the surgery due to the fear. My father came and put his hands on my shoulder and said don’t worry Nonso everything is going to be alright. I remember anger from the depth of my belle. In my mind, I was like if you do not get out… This is not the time when you talk.

“I had quietly written all the passwords of my banking apps somewhere. I was preparing in case I would die.

“And then there was also the possibility of never getting my eyesight back. At a point when the doctor told me ‘these were the options available for you’ I did not know what to do again.”
