Yusuf, son of President Muhammadu Buhari, has tied the knot with Zahra Bayero, daughter of the Emir of Bichi.
The lovebirds got married as scheduled in a wedding event that was staged in Kano on Friday afternoon.
The marriage ceremony took place at the palace of the Emir of Bichi, where the Fatiha was also staged.
According to BBC Hausa, the dowry paid for Zahra is N500,000.
The wedding was attended by a deluge of prominent figures including the president and Yemi Osinbajo, vice-president.
Also present were members of Buhari’s delegation including Bashir Magashi, minister of defense; Sabo Nanono, minister of agriculture; Hadi Sirika, minister for aviation; and Suleiman Hussein Adamu, minister for water resources.
Garba Shehu, Buhari’s senior special assistant on media and publicity, also said members of the delegation would stay back after the wedding to represent the president at the coronation of the emir at Bichi the next day.
In March, Yusuf’s family members had visited the family of Ado Bayero to seek the marriage of Zahra.
The lovebirds were said to have met each other in the United Kingdom where the president’s son finished his undergraduate studies.
Zahra is a graduate of architecture from Brighton University in the UK.
