Wizkid, Nigerian Afropop superstar, has come out to express his displeasure at the ongoing attacks on African migrants including Nigerians in South Africa.

The past few days have witnessed heightening tension between the two countries on account of the repeated attacks and killings of Nigerian citizens living in South Africa and public figures in Nigeria have taken to social media to register their frustration about the trend.

In a flurry of tweets on Tuesday, the award-winning singer described the videos and scenes from the incidents as disheartening.

He also told condemned the actions of citizens in South Africa, stating that they are “fighting the wrong war”.

“Disheartening to watch these videos from my home! You’re fighting the wrong war , fighting the wrong people. How do we walk around hating each other? Africa is one! We’re all the same people! Pls don’t loose yourself! #SayNoToXenophobia One Love,” he wrote.

“Pls educate yourselves, educate the kids , educate the youth! We’re all humans before anything else! “Humans” !! And most importantly “Africans”!”

The statement comes at about the time when Burna Boy had lambasted AKA, South African rapper, over his tension-inciting comments about Nigeria’s relationship with South Africa.

On Wednesday, Wizkid went on to caution that violence is never the answer.

He took a thinly-veiled dig at celebrities who, according to him, have been disseminating insensitive comments.

“Violence is never the answer! Pls my people ! Don’t loose yourselves!,” he wrote.

“I’ve seen so many insensitive and dumb stupid comments from You celebrities and I’m so disappointed! This is not a time to fight or point fingers!! Let love lead. Use your head! ❤️ u fucking dumb fucks! People are dying foreal! Watch what you say!

“Y’all want to go around preaching hate and fighting each other when the real problem is not even on social media! You clout chasing d**k h**ds! #SayNoToXenophobicAttacks ! Fight the real problem! Government! Poverty! Education!

“And if you don’t have anything sensible to say at this sensitive time pls just promote your music and f**k off. Nobody ask una papa for opinions!
