On Becoming contains accounts of her relationship and marriage to fitness expert, Maje Ayida, and memorable moments from her childhood.

TheCable Lifestyle had exclusively reported that Ayida has filed a defamation suit against her at a Lagos high court, claiming N100m in damages.

As he did in the letter of demand, Ayida also requested that she stopped the sales of the book and all forms of promotion related to it.

Seemingly undeterred, the television personality has continued to promote the book, in person and on social media.

Makinwa, who is said to have been served the court papers, on Friday held a book signing event/meet and greet with fans in London, United Kingdom.

The book reading event took place at Revolution Bar.

At the event, Makinwa told attendees that On Becoming has provided her with a platform to “connect and empower” people.

“Although I never planned to write a book, sharing the On Becoming project has brought me so much fulfillment,” she said.

“It has created a platform for me to connect and empower people with different experiences around the world.”

The on-air-personality also took to her Instagram page on Saturday to gush over the attendance of her book signing event.
