Moses Bliss, the Nigerian gospel singer, has appealed to the Guinness World Records to speed up the confirmation of Hilda Baci’s new cooking record.

On Monday morning, Baci made history after cooking for more than 87 hours and 45 minutes, breaking a record that was previously set by India’s Lata Tondon back in 2019.

After breaking Tondon’s cooking record, the Akwa Ibom-born chef also went a step further by setting a new record of 100 hours.

The feat was achieved at the Amore Gardens, Lekki in Lagos.

While Nigerians celebrated Baci’s achievement on Twitter, the Guinness World Records disclosed that it will review all the evidence first before officially confirming the record set by the Nigerian.

In a statement on Wednesday, Bliss said the chef’s feat serves as a testament to the unwavering resolve of Nigerian youth to pursue extraordinary goals.

He also called for a speedy review of the Nigerian chef’s feat by the Guinness World Records.

“Hilda Baci’s mind-blowing attempt is a testament to the unwavering resolve of the Nigerian youth to aim for the stars,” he said.

“Baci has carved a name for herself as a pacesetter and a worthy ambassador of Nigerian youth in the comity of nations, pushing the flag of the country positively across the globe.

“It is satisfactory that Guinness World Records has acknowledged Baci’s effort and said a review is ongoing to crown her with the much-coveted and deserving position but this should be fast-tracked without compromise for laid-down standards. This only is how to reward hard work.

“The Nigerian youths keep proving our naysayers wrong that many good things can still come from Nazareth.

“Like Tobi Amusan, Paul Kehinde, Bose Omolayo, amongst many others, Nigerian youths, the female gender especially, are putting Nigeria on the world map.”

Bliss gained prominence with the release of his hit single ‘Too Faithful’ in 2019.

He has since released other hit tracks such as ‘Bigger Everyday’, ‘Miracle’, and ‘Taking Care’.
