Elisha Abbo, senator representing Adamawa north senatorial district, has angered Nigerians on social media platforms after he was caught on camera physically assaulting a woman.
In the now-viral footage obtained by Premium Times, Abbo, 41 — dubbed the youngest Nigerian senator — is seen slapping the nursing mother repeatedly at a sex toy shop in the Wuse 2 area of Abuja.
Though the video surfaced online on Tuesday, the incident was said to have occurred on May 11, a month before he was sworn in.
The lawmaker had visited the shop on that fateful day in company of three young women to purchase adult toys.
Moments later, one of the ladies started to throw up prompting the shop owner’s request that she vomited outside and not inside her shop.
Apparently cheesed off by the shop owner’s comments, Abba was said to have accused her of poisoning the store’s air conditioner and an argument ensued between both parties.
The senator, who suddenly took his phone to make calls, was soon joined by a police officer whom he asked to arrest the shop owner he described as a friend.
“She insulted me. She said I’m drunk, stupid and mad,” he told the officer in Hausa.
The incident has since dominated the conversation on social media platforms and is currently top on Twitter trends.
A huge number of users have condemned his actions and called for his immediate dismissal and prosecution.

“Elisha Abbo must be dismissed with immediate effect from the Nigeria Senate. Elisha Abbo is an animal and a woman beater.
