Manny Monie, a signee of Portable, the Nigerian singer, has opened up after an assault by his principal.

In a viral video on Friday, Portable was spotted assaulting Monie while accusing him of being ungrateful.

The controversial singer could be seen kicking Monie as the latter attempted to shield his head with his arms.

Portable alleged that the signee got the service of two music distributors without his consent.

But addressing the issue via his Instagram on Friday, Monie said he is innocent of what Portable accused him of.

Monie, in turn, accused Portable of seizing his studio set and phone.

“I don’t know how I wronged him. Yet he’s claiming I’m ungrateful. My brother bought me a studio set,” he said.

“I own the studio set Portable is using.

“He said he had a dream that some people wants to kill him and that we should give him space.

“I said that I should carry my studio set to use till he calls us back.

“He refused [and said] he wants to use the studio set to replace the help he did for me.

“He seized my phone since morning.”

In the caption accompanying his post, Manny Monie also alleged that Portable is “threatening” his life.

“I’m writing this to all of you [all] over the world to please help me. I don’t know what I did to Portable that he is threatening my life. He brutally beat me this morning, and seized my phone,” the young signee wrote.

The controversy is coming a few hours after the Portable laid off his studio staff for “squandering” his money.

Portable has been involved in a series of controversies in 2022 alone.

Earlier, the singer claimed to have founded a cult that terrorised residents in parts of Lagos state years back.

He had also threatened to assassinate rival musicians who were nominated alongside him in The Headies 2022.

The police, as a result, ordered a probe into the cult claim while The Headies ultimately disqualified him.
