The 33-year-old was revealed as this year’s honoree of the title on Tuesday during the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ show.

The ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ feature, which is determined with a procedure similar to that of Time’s ‘Person of the Year’, is regarded as a benchmark of male attractiveness and has typically included only famous people and celebrities.

Speaking during his reception of the honor, Jordan said that there are women in his family who are proud of him.

“When my grandmother was alive, it was something that she collected, and then my mom naturally reads it a lot and my aunts as well. This is one that they’re definitely going to have a special place for,” the actor said.

Jordan’s reception of the title comes after John Legend and Idris Elba received it in 2019 and 2018 respectively.

He is known for his film roles as Oscar Grant in the drama ‘Fruitvale Station’ (2013), as the boxer Adonis Creed in the Rocky sequel film ‘Creed’ (2015), and Erik Killmonger in ‘Black Panther’ (2018), all directed by Ryan Coogler.

Jordan’s television roles include Wallace in the HBO series ‘The Wire’ (2002) and Vince Howard in the NBC drama series ‘Friday Night Lights’ (2009–2011). He also appeared on the soap opera ‘All My Children’ (2003–2006).
