In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, Chike described her dad as her “best friend,” adding that they shared a deep bond.

The reality star said when he died in 2013, she struggled to accept the loss.

Chike added that she initially fell into a state of depression but reminded herself that her dad wouldn’t have wanted her to dwell on the pain.

”My dad was like my best friend; I was very close to him. He literally dragged me and said, ‘you aren’t going anywhere,” she said.

“My dad was Cancer, I am a Taurus, so we were like a match made in heaven. He died in 2013, it was like a changing point in my life because my dad did everything for me, he had my life planned out.

“So, when he passed away, I was like, ‘what am I going to do with life?’. I didn’t accept it until months after he was buried, I was in denial. I fell into depression.

“When I finally got out of it, I told myself, ‘this isn’t what your dad would have wanted you to be, he would have wanted you to be a great woman, so go do something.”

Chike rose to fame after participating in the 2021 edition of the BBNaija show.

She has carved a niche for herself in the country’s showbiz.

On April 16, she debuted her wellness show titled ‘Healing with Maria’.
