Asa, the Nigerian singer and songwriter, has combined with Wizkid for a new song titled ‘IDG”.
The song was released on Friday alongside 9 tracks in Asa’s fifth body of work titled ‘V’.
The over three-minute track was produced by PPrime and the youngster producer showed that his craft has transcended beyond the percussion-laden sound of Afrobeats.
‘IDG’ is a mid-tempo sound that rides on the riffs of guitar and jumble of samba-like beats underground to solidify into a blissful piece of musical work.
Asa’s powerful voice glides the slow beat as she purrs about living in the moment and her smooth rendition is matched with Wizkid’s signature “sound from the other side.”
“Live in the moment/ Tomorrow belongs to God/ Nothing can break me/ Nothing can bend me/ Nothing can pull me down/ May love what you hate/ We all deserve a chance,” Asa sings at the beginning of the song.
