Khafi Kareem, a former housemate of the 2019 season of the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality television show, has announced her engagement to Gedoni Ekpata, her colleague in the house.
Gedoni made the proposal on Christmas day while the lovebirds were on a vacation in Cape Verde.
Khafi, who appeared very excited, took to her Instagram page to announce the good news.
“Oh, and I got the best Christmas gift ever 😊❤️💍#MrsEkpataLoading,” she wrote, accompanied by a photo of the duo in a warm embrace.
The photo sees Gedoni’s back to the camera while Khafi held out a paper which read “I SAID YES”.
Their long-standing relationship started during the fourth edition of the reality TV show in 2019 and ever since they left the house, the duo have not shown signs of breaking that emotional bond.
Their engagement also comes a few months after Tope ‘Teddy A’ Adenibuyan and Bamike ‘Bambam’ Olawunmi, two former housemates of 2018 BBNaija, tied the knot in a well-attended ceremony in Dubai.
Khafi had earlier declared her love for Gedoni, saying she feels so much peace around him during their time in the reality show.
“I felt such peace around him. I didn’t think I couldn’t be myself around him,” she had said.
“We did not have sex. You know sex is a natural thing. If I did, I would actually say that’s what happened.
