Pop superstar Janet Jackson has confirmed her separation from husband, Wissam Al Mana,
Jackson broke her silence on her marriage and new baby in a video posted online late on Monday.
The 50-year-old singer also revealed that a divorce case is in court.
“Yes, I have separated from my husband, we are in court and the rest is in God’s hands,” Jackson said. “I just want to keep it real with you guys for a second.”
Jackson noted that her pregnancy made her put on a lot of weight, but said she’s grateful that her baby is in good health.
“I thank God for my baby; he is so happy, so beautiful, and so healthy. I am continuing my tour as I promised and I am so excited.”
She also confirmed plans to go back on tour.
The singer said that her tour will be called ‘State of the World’ but added that the name has no political undertone.
Jackson and Al Mana split last month after five years of marriage.
The separation came three months after the birth of their son in January.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that she is set to earn millions from the billionaire businessman by virtue of the divorce.
Before marrying Al Mana, Jackson was renowned for her sexually provocative records and elaborate stage perfomances.
