The film producer has been on and off the microblogging platform since the conclusion of the 2023 general election.

Akindele was the running mate to Olajide ‘Jandor’ Adediran, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), during the March 18 election.

The PDP, however, lost the election to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the incumbent governor and candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The actress, who recently engaged some of her followers in a conversation, was asked by a fan why she hasn’t been active on the app.

“Madm Funke Akindele I site you… longest time… you run away for us abi wot happen,” the fan wrote.

In response, Akindele said she stayed away to avoid the incessant toxic comments from trolls on Twitter.

“Dem too Dey insult people on this app so I stay off. How are you ?” Funke replied.
