Phyna, winner of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) season 7, says she started working at the age of three.

The reality TV star spoke about her childhood struggles when she appeared on the recent edition of the Nancy Isime show.

Phyna said at a very tender age, she served food at her aunt’s restaurant, adding that “growing up for me was not really easy”.

The reality star also recalled how she missed two academic sessions in school in order to take care of her father when he was involved in an accident.

“First of all, growing up for me was not really easy. Starting from scratch, I actually grew up with my aunt, my dad’s elder sister in Auchi. And my aunt sells food in a restaurant,” she said.

“Now, imagine a young girl at a restaurant at a very tender age. At three, I was already in the restaurant serving men. And there is a point my dad had an accident. They needed somebody to be with him at the hospital. I think I just finished my JSS 3 then and I had to go with my dad from one hospital to another. It affected me in school.

“I never attended SS1 and 2. So, on coming back, I joined my mates in SS 3.”

Born Josephina Otabor, Phyna won the BBNaija ‘Level Up’ edition’s N100 million grand prize.
