Ruger, the Nigerian singer, appeared to have aimed a dig at Kizz Daniel, his colleague, ahead of his forthcoming show in Tanzania.

The ‘Bounce’ crooner is scheduled to perform in the east African country on October 1.

In a Twitter post, Ruger, whose real name is Michael Olayinka, announced his arrival in the country while asking fans to gear up for his show.

He also said he did not forget his bags — a line many believed is a thinly-veiled dig at the ‘Buga’ singer.

“Tanzania!!!! I’m here and I didn’t forget my bags . See you October 1st,” he wrote.

In August, Daniel was in the news after he was arrested in Tanzania for not appearing at a paid concert he was to headline.

His absence from the concert had sparked outrage, with many of his Tanzanian fans criticising him.

He was later released from police custody after which he apologised for his action and promised a make-up show.

The singer would later perform at the concert as promised.

Stephen Uwa, the show organiser, earlier alleged that Daniel refused to perform because he was not wearing his gold chain which was inside his bag said to have been left behind by the airline.

“He only said the airline didn’t bring his bag. That is why he could not perform because his gold chain is not there and he had a gold chain on his neck. He wanted everything,” he had said.

“I bought him different clothes but he said just because the airline didn’t bring one of his bags, he cannot perform without his gold on his neck.”
