Yemi Alade, the Afrofusion singer, has come through with a new single titled ‘Fake Friends’.

The 34-year-old songstress took to her social media pages on Friday to announce the new track.

In the song, Alade sings about her intention to cut off fake friends when she becomes rich.

“When the money come, I go change my face/  All of my fake friends/ we no go dey relate/ When the money come, I go change my face/ All of my fake friends we no go dey relate,” she sings.

“Hmmm you know oooo everybody get opolo/ Eh depend on the way you use am ooo/ This life na free lance ooo/ Now am getting money ooo/ Locate the bag and I secure oo/ Dem hating ’cause am getting/ I know want make dem near me”.

Alade is arguably one of the top female artistes in the country. She gained fame with the release of ‘Johnny’, her 2014 single.

The songstress enjoys delivering her songs in English, Yoruba, and French languages.

Alade was nominated for the BET Awards ‘Best International Act Africa’ in 2015 and 2016. She was also nominated for the 2014 and 2015 MOBO Awards.

She won the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs) for Best Female in 2015 and 2016.

In 2019, Effyzzie Music Group, her label, partnered with Universal Music Group (UMG) Africa.
