Timi Dakolo, the Nigerian singer, has put out his highly anticipated single titled ‘Men of the South’.

The 42-year-old musician announced the release of the song via his social media pages on Friday.

The song is a track of ‘The Chorus Leader’, Dakolo’s album scheduled for January 19.

In the three-minute track produced by Masterkraft, Dakolo eulogizes his roots as he proudly represents the south-south region of Nigeria.

The singer also infuses the mix of soulful melody and gyration while paying homage to the struggles of his people.

In ‘Men of the South,’ Dakolo also encourages people to “come around” and witness the south in its splendor and beauty, adding that it is where the money is.

“Everybody come around party for the South/ If you hear this melody make you come around/ Men don show/ Money flows/ This our town/ South-South way/ Na where the money dey,” he sings.

Born on January 20, 1981, Dakolo has etched his name on the minds of many Nigerians for his numerous projects.

The 39-year-old singer rose to fame after emerging winner of the inaugural season of Idols West Africa in 2007.

Dakolo was born in Accra, Ghana. His father is from Bayelsa while his mum is from Ghana.
