Paul ‘Rudeboy’ Okoye, Nigerian singer, has come through with ‘Rudykillus’, his debut album since becoming a solo artist in 2017.

The body of work was released on Thursday as earlier announced by the 39-year-old afro-pop vocalist.

The 15-track project, with no feature, includes hit single ‘Audio Money‘, a song that comments on petty societal ills.

Others are tracks like ‘Nowhere to Gid’, ‘Ayoyo’, ‘Focus’, ‘Ego Nekwu’, ‘Fall in Love’, ‘Broke Land’, ‘Something Must Kill A Man’, ‘Ihe Neme’, ‘Catch Your Fever’, ‘4 Days’, ‘Hey Mama’, ‘No Gimme’, ‘Space’, ‘Woman’, and ‘Reason With Me‘.

The album is released under Fire Department, his independent record label, and it brilliantly infused several sounds like Afropop, Highlife, and Amapiano.

Rudeboy released his solo debut songs in 2017, which include ‘Fire Fire’ and ‘Nkenji Keke’. He would later drop ‘Somebody Baby’ in 2018 before featuring Reminisce on ‘Is Allowed’.

Paul came through with ‘Reality’ in 2018 and enlisted Patoranking on another single ‘Together’. The singer’s 2019 debut ‘Reason with Me’ cleared obstacles to top the charts.

The music video for the song became the most viewed African music video on YouTube in 2019 with 40 million views — and then garnered nearly 84 million views as of December 2020.

Paul was a former member of Psquare, the now-defunct music group he once shared with Peter Okoye, his twin brother.

In 2016, rumours started to circulate on social media that the duo had disbanded over a disagreement on the role of Jude Okoye, their older brother and immediate past manager.

The rumour of the split, however, gained reliable currency on September 25, 2017.
