Ice Spice, the US rapper, has collaborated with Rema, the Afro-rave singer, for a new song titled ‘Pretty Girl’.
The rapper took to Instagram on Friday to unveil the song.
‘Pretty Girl’ is a melodious blend of Afrobeats and Pop. It beautifully captures the dynamic synergy between Rema’s velvety vocals and Ice Spice’s commanding rap delivery.
The song is about two young lovers embracing their relationship and dismissing the negativity from haters.
Rema sings about his feelings for his lover and promises her loyalty, while Ice Spice raps about her vision for their future together and her excitement about achieving great things with him.
“Yeah, pretty gyal, me no do no kiss and tell. As long as you treat me well, I will treat you more than gem, me no send my chains, you are my real flex, aye, yeah, gimme promise you ain’t gonna bail on me,” the lyrics read.
“It is our life, so baby, let us live it. Haters super mad, we got them all livid, thinking about my future, got you all in it like shooting for the stars, the sky has no limit.”
Both artistes have had significant success in recent years.
Ice Spice first gained recognition in 2022 with her song ‘Munch (Feelin’ U)’, which achieved viral popularity on TikTok.
She has other hit tracks including ‘Bikini Bottom’ and ‘In Ha Mood’.
The rapper has also received several accolades for her talent.
Rema, on the other hand, rose to fame in 2019, after the release of his hit song ‘Dumebi’.
In 2022, he combined with Selena Gomez for the remix of ‘Calm Down’, another hit track.
The song has since gained international acclaim and continued to top several charts.
