Speaking at the event, Wizkid spoke on the pain he has felt since his mother passed on.

The singer said although “it is impossible for the pain to go away, I pray that God will comfort us”.

“I have no words to describe the pain that I feel. I know everyone in my family shares this thing with me. But I know God, in His infinite mercy, is going to… I know it is impossible for the pain to go away and I am not going to say take away the pain but it is just to comfort us,” he said.

“The pain is confound. It hurts deeply. The deepest pain I have ever felt in my life. I am lost. But I pray that God will comfort every one of us. And I just wanna say a big thank you to every one of us here today. I did not even believe I would be able to do this tonight, but I just wanna say a big thank you to my sisters – sister Yetunde, sister Lara, the family, my dad, Brother Segun, Aunty Fausiat, my mum’s sisters and brothers. And Uncle Sanya, and everybody.

“I just feel bad. God is going to help us through this day. I just wanna thank everyone for coming around today. God bless you.”

Wizkid has not been active on social media or in the public eye since the death of Jane.

The singer is known to be very fond of his mum.
