BNXN, the singer formerly known as Buju, has put out a new single titled ‘Pray’.
In a social media post in the early hours of Thursday, BNXN said the song is to acknowledge “that I cannot do everything on my own”.
“This is a song about divine sustenance. It is me acknowledging that I cannot do everything on my own. Despite how hard I try to. There is a force that upholds me and all my dreams, a force so strong and sure that it is able to keep me from falling and failing. ‘PRAY’ out now,” he wrote.
In ‘Pray’, BNXN prays to God that he does not become a failure after the hard work.
“Oh oh oh oh oh/ Hal hallelujah/ Hal hallelu/ You say I be bloody fellow/ As my skin come yellow/ You say I no sabi hustle/ I no sabi hustle/ You were sleeping well o,” BNXN sings.
“As you no dey for me/ I carry my cross go cavalry/ It’s in the rhythm and melody for me/ The reason mo fi Ijo si mo fako si/ You no dey for me/ I carry my cross go cavalry/ It’s in the rhythm and melody for me/ The reason mo fi Ijo si, mo fako si/ Emi mimo o/ I’ve been working hard o/ Make I no go fall o/ I too pray o.”
He also accompanied the song with a music video, shot by TG Omori.
