Britney Spears, American singer, has announced her engagement to Sam Asghari, her long-term boyfriend.

The 39-year-old songwriter broke the news in an Instagram post on Tuesday alongside a loved-up video of the pair.

“I can’t f**king believe it,” she captioned the short clip.

The 27-year-old actor also uploaded a picture of them kissing on his Instagram page as Spears showed off the engagement ring.

The pair first met in 2016 when Asghari, a fitness trainer, co-starred with Spears in the music video of her single, ‘Slumber Party.’

Brandon Cohen, Asghari’s manager, later confirmed news of the engagement to People magazine, an American news outlet.

“The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication and love expressed to them,” he said.

The development comes after Spears’ father agreed to eventually step aside from his 13-year conservatorship role, which allows him to oversee the singer’s finances and personal life — although the case is still in court.

The singer had said that the terms of the arrangement are hindering her from marrying Asghari and having more children.

The Grammy winner, who had tied the knot on two occasions, had her first marriage with Jason Alexander annulled in 2004 — a few months after they wedded.

Later the same year, she married Kevin Federline, a dancer, with whom she has two children. The couple later divorced in 2007.
