Davido, the Afrobeats star, has paid tribute to Mohbad, the fast-rising singer who died at the age of 27.

Mohbad passed away on Tuesday and was laid to rest on Wednesday.

While the cause of death is still unknown, tributes have been pouring from friends and well-wishers including celebrities.

Joining the fray of well-wishers, Davido also honoured the late artiste during his concert in Manchester on Wednesday.

While offering his condolences to the singer’s family, he said it takes a lot for artistes to come on stage and perform every night.

He also said fans might not know what artistes go through each day.

“Condolences to the family of my little brother Mohbad, he passed yesterday,” he said.

“As we come on stage and perform for you guys every night, you guys might not know what we artistes be going through.

“We are human beings too, it takes a lot for us to come out every night and perform and deliver, we do that because we love you guys.

“I just wanted to give a special shout-out to my brother. I know you are in heaven watching down. Tonight we turn up for you.”

Joseph Aloba, the father of Mohbad, revealed he died shortly after an auxiliary nurse was invited to give him an injection.
