Deji and Chichi, the 2022 Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemates, have engaged each other in a war of words over their failed relationship.

The duo shared lovey-dovey moments during the ‘Level Up’ edition of the show.

They also spoke fondly of themselves in several media sessions.

Last September, Deji, in an interview after exiting the show, said he felt more comfortable with Chichi and hinted at pursuing a relationship with her.

Chichi also disclosed that she loved Deji and added that she would like to pursue a relationship with him after the show.

‘WE CANNOT BE TOGETHER’

But at the show’s reunion on Wednesday, Deji argued that he was not dating the exotic dancer as widely believed.

He claimed he only wanted to know more about Chichi before deciding his next move.

“You’ re talking about me leading the shippers on. Not once not twice I literally said I don’t want to lead anybody on. I don’t want to create a narrative,” he said.

“We are not dating. I can’t be with you based on vibes and a few cameos on TV. It doesn’t work that way. If I am deciding to be with a lady, I want to know who you are. Everybody is coming on TV saying different things. We all know how people lie. I am trying to know you but you’re not trying to tell me who you are.

“We both had conversations that we are not proud of. I told you we can’t be together. In the shippers’ store you are taking all the money. Use it for yourself. You need it more than I do.

“Maybe at some point I wasn’t really clear, but I knew that there were different times I was telling you that let’s get to know each other first.”

‘YOU LED PEOPLE ON, SNEAKED INTO MY HOTEL ROOM TO BEG’

Reacting, Chichi accused the Pharmacist of trying to “manipulate” her.

She said on several occasions, Deji professed his love for her but presented a different narrative to the public that they were not dating.

Chichi also claimed during their visit to South Africa, Deji sneaked into her hotel room to beg her not to end the relationship.

“We went to South Africa (SA). When he came back, he came to my hotel room and we had like three hours conversation. He asked if I was going to move on like that. I said what do you expect from me? Because at that time I want to just cry out. Be that strong girl and just move on,” she said.

“Because I am tired to be in that situation. Then we had a long talk. He slept over. I told him, Deji you know what? F**k off my room. Enough is enough. You are a boy, not a man.

“You were sneaking into my bedroom to apologise to me. You told me you care about me. So what are you doing?

“The reason I followed this dude is because he kept on leading the shippers on. And I kept on telling them there’s no longer this Deji thing. I don’t recognise this name. Please take my name off it. I want to be known as Chichi. For them to have shipped me with this guy I am actually disappointed.

“I appreciate the fact that you people love the way I love, but this guy is not good for me.”
