Burna Boy, the Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, has taken a swipe at Brymo, his colleague, following his recent statement.

In a recent interview, Brymo argued that he is a better artiste than Burna Boy. He also claimed the Afro-fusion singer is below his standard.

In what appears to be a reply to Brymo on his Instagram story, the ‘City Boy’ hitmaker insinuated that his colleague sings “Yoruba proverb music”.

Burna Boy also claimed Fuji legends like Kwam 1 and Saheed Osupa are better than Brymo.

“At this point they do and say anything to get at the king. Werey dey sing Yoruba proverb music for us. When K1 and Saheed Osupa dem still dey carry us trabaye,” he said.

Last year, Brymo and Burna Boy clashed after the former accused the latter of dubbing from his musical work.

Brymo claimed that Burna Boy’s songs ‘City Boys’ and ‘I Told Them’ were tracks from ‘Macabre’, his album.

In response, Burna Boy mocked Brymo’s career in a freestyle song. He called the singer a “failure”.

Burna Boy also advised his fans to avoid a similar fate by working hard.

Born Damini Ogulu, Burna Boy started to attract attention in 2013 after releasing ‘Like to Party,’ the lead single from his debut album ‘L.I.F.E.’

With a string of awards and accolades, the singer has solidified his status as one of the leading artistes out of Africa.

In 2021, Burna Boy set a record in Nigeria after his fifth album ‘Twice As Tall’ won the ‘Best World Music Album’ category at the Grammy Awards.
