Users of X (formerly Twitter) have donated over N2 million to a Nigerian lady who was criticised for waking up by 4:50 am daily to prepare food for her husband.

The lady — simply identified as Deborah Loveth (Mum Zee) — went viral after she disclosed the reason she gets up from bed very early to prepare her husband’s lunch.

Mum Zee said she made it a daily routine after her husband told her his colleague (a female) brought two spoons with her food to work so they could eat together.

“I’ve always been too lazy to wake up and get his lunch ready. But the day he told me a colleague brought two spoons so he’ll eat with her, was the day I set my alarm for 4:50 am,” she wrote.

The tweet sparked a wave of controversy on social media. While some users criticised her over the routine others tackled her husband for eating out in the first instance.

Amid the criticism, some users on X rallied support and donations for Mum Zee.

In a tweet, the lady appreciated the users who donated to her, adding that she had “cried out my heart in prayers for everyone “.

In a follow-up tweet, she shared a screenshot of her account balance, showing that the donations had passed over N2 million.

She also pleaded with X users that the donations were enough, adding that she was getting “scared”.

“Where’s the tweet with my account number again sef. Please it’s okay, I’m scared,” she wrote.

Loveth has also been receiving gifts from X users — ranging from phones, bed frames, and food items — with some users promising to repaint her apartment and get her a vehicle.

She also disclosed that someone has recommended her for a remote job where she will earn N50,000 monthly while her husband was offered a scholarship to learn data science.
