Deborra-Lee Furness, the wife of  Hugh Jackman, has once again debunked a gay rumour surrounding the actor.

The pair, who have two kids, met in 1995 on the set of the Australian TV show ‘Correlli’ and tied the knot a few months later.

Throughout their marriage, there has been rumour claiming Jackman is gay.

This was thought to have emerged after he played a gay role in ‘The Boy From Oz on Broadway’ back in 2003.

Addressing the claim, Deborra-Lee argued there’s no reason for Jackman, 53, to hide his sexuality if he was gay.

“Hugh’s been gay for whatever, I mean, hello guys! If he was gay, he could be gay!” she said in a podcast feature.

“He didn’t have to hide in the closet anymore, and he’d be dating Brad Pitt, or whatever. Not that Brad’s gay, but you know what I’m saying! It’s so silly, and then people perpetuate silly things and it’s boring.”

Jackman became known outside Australia in 1998.

This was when he played ‘Curly’ in the Royal National Theatre’s stage production of ‘Oklahoma!’ in London.

The performance earned him an Olivier Award nomination for ‘Best Actor in a Musical’.

He also starred in the 1999 film version of the same stage musical which has been screened in many countries.
