Wendy Williams, popular American TV show host, has filed for divorce from Kevin Hunter, her husband, after nearly 22 years of marriage.

According to TMZ, the television producer, who has been married to Hunter since 1997 and share one child, Kevin Hunter Jr., 19, filed the petition to divorce him in New Jersey on Thursday.

She also seeks the court to determine an “appropriate amount” of child support — even though their son, Kevin Jr., is over 18.

It is further understood that she has been seen not wearing her wedding ring over the past few weeks.

While no reason has been given for the divorce, there are rumours that infidelity might have plagued the pair for several years.

In March, the media mogul revealed she has been living in a sober house and getting round-the-clock help to deal with her drug addiction issues.

“For some time now, and even today and beyond, I have been living in a sober house,” she told her audience at the time.

“You know I’ve had a struggle with cocaine in my past. I never went to a place to get the treatment. I don’t know how except God was sitting on my shoulder and I just stopped.”

She also said “nobody knew” about her situation except Hunter.

“Wendy and her family have been a part of Debmar-Mercury for over 10 years. We respect their privacy regarding personal matters. As always, we remain committed to bringing an entertaining and topical show to our viewers,” said a statement issued by the Wendy Williams Show.
