‘Oka Okoro’, a new Nollywood movie which bares the rubrics of Igbo folklore and Nigeria’s long-standing cultural heritage, is set to be premiered in the federal capital territory (FCT).

The film, which spanned 120-minute, is expected to premiere at the Genesis cinema, airport road in Abuja on July 27, 2019.

‘Oka Okoro’ re-enacts two major defining moments in the history of Nenwe, a community in Aninri local government area (LGA) of Enugu state.

The movie also promotes the rich history, culture and heritage of the Igbo land.

“The film tells the two stories in a captivating and engaging manner capable of appealing to a wide range of audiences beyond the people of Nenwe, and inspiring a new wave of interest in the conservation of the memories of similar events in Igbo societies, using film,” said Chinelo Uzoigwe, Nollywood actress.

The talented film maker also took to her Instagram account on Wednesday to share the documentary of the premiere of ‘Oka Okoro’.

Among renowned Nollywood icons featured in the movie are Chiwetalu Agu, Diewait Ikpechukwu, Leo-Spider Osuji, and Stan K Amandi.
