Nicolas Cage, American actor and filmmaker, has released the first trailer for ‘Pig’, his forthcoming movie scheduled for release on July 16.

The less than three-minute trailer was released on Thursday night by NEON, an American film production and distribution company.

It follows a truffle hunter who lives alone in the Oregonian wilderness who must return to his past in Portland in search of his beloved foraging pig after being kidnapped.

The trailer begins with Cage sharing lovely moments with his out pig as they sauntered through the forest before heading home.

The exciting atmosphere soon gave way to that of anxiety and violence after the pig was kidnapped by an assailant who engaged Cage in a heated exchange.

The trailer details the attendant traumatic experience that trail the ensuing melee with Cage finding it difficult to stomach the loss of his pig.

“I remember every meal that I cooked. I remember all the people I served. You live your life for them and they don’t even see you. You don’t even see yourself,” Cage said in the trailer.

“We don’t have a lot of things that really worry us … who’s got my pig?”

The project, directed by Michael Sarnoski, was filmed in 2019 and was initially billed for release last but was delayed due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

It features several movie stars including Alex Wolff, Adam Arkin, and Gretchen Corbett.
