Godfrey Okoye University in Enugu state has offered a scholarship to Lotanna Azuokeke, the 15-year-old student who scored 337 over 400 in the 2023 UTME, to study at the institution.

Christian Anieke, the vice-chancellor of the institution, announced the scholarship while challenging students of the varsity to aim for excellence.

Anieke said if the offer is accepted, the teenager would be admitted to study at the institution’s College of Medicine.

Azuokeke, a student of Bishop Otubelu Juniorate, Trans Ekulu in Enugu state, has become a viral sensation since his UTME score surfaced online.

Chiwuike Uba, the media adviser to the founder of the school, earlier revealed that the teenager applied to study engineering at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).

Uba said that Azụokeke scored 99 marks in mathematics, 88 marks in chemistry, 86 in physics, and 64 in the English Language.

“Azụokeke broke the record set by Chidera Obi who scored 329 marks to emerge overall best, five years ago,” he had said.

“Report shows that Azuokeke applied to study electrical/electronic engineering at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).

“The school recorded 100 percent success in the last Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE); three students came out with 11As each.

“We are proud of the success we have attained so far. Our JAMB results are simply wonderful, our WASSCE and NECO results are not bad also.”
