Uche Maduagwu, the controversial and self-acclaimed actor, has alleged that he was recently arrested by security personnel for coming out as gay.

In January last year, Maduagwu had declared he was “proudly gay.”

But in April, he claimed that he lied about his initial declaration — only to make a U-turn in May that he’s “1000 percent gay”.

In a recent Instagram post, the controversial Instagram celebrity alleged that he was apprehended on Wednesday afternoon by the police — although he did not provide more information to back his claim.

“I was arrested this afternoon by security operatives for coming out as gay and for telling Joe Biden to sanction Buhari over Bauchi undemocratic sharia judgment on LGBT,” he wrote.

Maduagwu is best known off-screen for trolling public figures.

The graduate of sociology from the Lagos State University (LASU) has faced backlash on numerous occasions over his knack for controversies.

Last year, he alleged that he was “arrested and beaten for three hours” by security operatives at the Lekki axis of Lagos state.

Maduagwu claimed his initial denial was due to alleged threats from security operatives.

He also alleged that he was sexually assaulted on a Lagos movie set while reflecting on the prevalence of the scourge in the film industry.

“Honestly, anytime I remember how I was molested and raped by a male actor on my first movie location in Lagos, I cry bitterly,” he had said.
