Singer Tiwa Savage has addressed the criticism of her inability to perform live during concerts.

Of late, the singer has received bashing for not wearing footwear while onstage and for lip-syncing.

The Mavin Records signee says although she loves performing barefoot, she doesn’t exactly enjoy being unable to perform live.

The ‘Kele Kele’ singer took to her Instagram on Friday to explain why she succumbed to the pressure of the industry.

She wrote: “I have so many people that love me and support me. I started this journey as a girl with a dream and sweet voice that captivated people, somewhere along the way that sweet voice was drowned by pressure of the industry and the need to stand in the midst of so many difficulties that happen behind the scenes.”

Savage, however, promised to overcome the challenge and do better by her fans.

“Nonetheless I have a job to do and by the grace of God I am learning to listen to my inner gut feeling and not succumb to outside voices,” she wrote.

“I promise my savage soldiers that I will change and you will be proud to be a soldier. If you’ve got my back I won’t let you down EVER again.”
